“RUN OF HOPE–2024”
Terms and conditions

- OBJECTIVES OF “RUN OF HOPE– 2024”:
- Solidarity with people suffering from cancer;
- Promotion of healthy lifestyle within and outside the city of Klaipeda;
- Invitation to the people of good will to support the St. Francis Oncology Center in Klaipeda, which is dedicated to inspire hope for cancer patients and their families.
Due to the support the center services for oncology patients and their families are free of charge.

* Organizers advise all the participants to individually choose the racing distance based upon personal evaluation of one’s physical readiness.

* Organizers advise all the participants to take these time limits into consideration when choosing the race distance as “Run of hope- 2024” is a one day event which finishes at 4 p.m. That is the official finishing time of the competition. The time measuring equipment will be turned off. City police will be re-opening the streets for the motorized traffic. The organizers of the event will no longer be taking responsibility for participants’ safety.
- RACE START TIME AND AGE GROUPS
There are two different start locations where the participants will be starting racing at different times. In addition, all the participants will be divided into age groups. The winners will be announced separately based on their age group and chosen distance.

7.1. 42.195 km distance runners will be awarded with:

| The winners of top 3 places in every age group will be awarded with participation medals as well as sponsors’ goody bags in the categories of men (M) and women (W). |
| Monetary awards will be granted for top 3 participants crossing the finish line in the categories of men (M) and women (W) despite of their age group. |

7.2. 21.098 km distance runners will be awarded with:

7.3. 8×5.3 km Relay race running runners will be awarded with:

7.4. 10 km distance runners will be awarded with:

7.5. 5 km distance runners will be awarded with:

7.6. 3 km distance runners will be awarded with:
– First 500 registered runners will get commemorative medals,

7.7. 0.75 km Solidarity race for hope distance runners will be awarded with:
All the participants in this race will receive:
- First 170 registered runners will get commemorative medals
- “Run of hope-2024” participation certificate
- Gifts from BIofarmacy
7.8. 0.75 km Growing hope race for school students – distance runners will be awarded with:
All the participants in this race will receive:
– Gifts from Biofarmacy;
– “Run of hope-2024” participation certificate.
The winners of top 3 places in every age group will be awarded with participation medals in the categories of men (M) and women (W).
7.9. 0.4 km distance runners will be awarded with:

7.10. There will be special nominations and awards, announced on the day of the event. Event organizers keep the right to change the number and grounds of nominations and awards.
7.11. All the award ceremonies will be held at “Run of hope – 2024” finish line (Atgimimo square, H. Manto str. 1) on the main stage of the event.
- OTHER CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
8.1 Everyone who have registered following the rules established in this document and paid the registration fee, are allowed to participate in “Run of hope – 2024”.
8.2 All participants confirm that they are partaking in the event free willingly, after having evaluated all the possible risks connected to the run (including health risks) and that the participants commit not to express any claims about it for the organizers during or after the event.
8.3 Every participant must wear a number that is attached to their t-shirt in an orderly manner. The number must be in front (on the chest) and visible.
8.4 During the competition participants and the people who support them are not allowed to use any type of transportation e.g. bikes, rollerblades, skateboards and any other means of transportation with wheels. Participants who violate this rule will be disqualified.
8.5 During the competition the participants are not allowed to have any personal escort. Participants who violate this rule will be disqualified.
- During the event participants are allowed to run with pets only in 5 km, 3 km, 0.75 km distances. Pet owners must take full responsibility for the safety of their pets as well as other participants. Pet owners must ensure their pets do not disturb other participants. In 42.195 km, 21.098 km, 10 km distances and 8×5 relay race running pets are not allowed.
- The race of all the distances in “Run of hope – 2024” will start with a special signal performed by one of the race officials. The time count will start at exactly the same time.
- Every participant of 42.195 km, 21.098 km, and 10 km, 5km, 3 km, 8×5 relay race must start their race at the designated start area and step on the time control line at the start and finish of the race in order to have their time measured. The time of the participants, who do not step on the time control line and/or do not have their racing number clearly visible on the front of their shirt, will not be taken and it will not be entered into the result protocol.
- Every participant of 0.4 km, and 0.75 km races must start their race at the designated start area and cross the line under the arch marking the finish line. They must also have their racing number clearly visible on the front of their shirt. The results of the runners, who will fail to cross the finish line and/or will not have their racing number clearly visible on the front of their shirt, will not be entered into the result protocol. In such cases the runners will lose the right to be awarded in their age groups.
- After having finished the run, the participants must leave start/finish zone through special provided exits. After the finish it is strictly forbidden to cross the time control line, otherwise the results will be void.
8.11 There will be refreshment stations alongside the running track and at the finish line where the water will be given out to the participants.
- At the start and finish areas of 42.195 km, 21.098 km, 10 km, 5.4 km, 2.9 km, 0.75 km, 0.4 km there will be bio toilets available for the participants.
- 42.195 km, 21.098 km, 10 km races can be all participants except citizens of Russian Federation, who are suspended by IAAF and EAA.
- Event organizers keep the right to change or adjust the terms and conditions of “Run of hope – 2024” without special notice.
- REGISTRATION PROCEDURES:
9.1 REGISTRATION TIME AND DATE:
9.1.1. The application form for “Run of hope – 2024″ is available online at www.viltiesbegimas.lt. Application deadline is 9 p.m. on the 18 th of May 2024. In order to successfully complete the registration procedure, all the applicants need to fill in the application form and make a contribution payment through the online banking system (the link to the online banking system will be provided at the last stage of the registration).
9.1.2. There will be a registration desk open at Klaipeda Atgimimo square (H.Manto str/Naujojo Sodo. Str., Klaipeda) between the 17th and 19th of May 2024, where application forms will be available. Contribution payments will be accepted in cash only (card payments will not be accepted). Race packs will be available for the participants who have had successfully pre-registered.
Registration desk opening hours:
17 th of May 2024 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m
18 th of May 2024 between 10 p.m. and 7 p.m
19 th of May 2024 between 8 a.m. and 12;30 p.m.
9.1.3. The race packs for 42 km, 21 km, 8X5 km, 10 km, 5 km distance runners will not be available on the day of the race (the 19 th of May 2024). The participants of the above mentioned races must collect their race packs at the registration desk prior to “Run of hope – 2024” following the terms and conditions stated in 9.1.2.
9.1.4. On the day of the event (the 19 th of May 2024) there will be registration desks open at the designated start areas where the runners will be able to register for certain races as well as collect their race packs. Contribution payments will be accepted in cash only (card payments will not be accepted). The desks will be open as follows:
- 42.195 km, 21.098 km, 8 kmx5 –– H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square 8:45 a.m. The desk will be open for race pack collection only. The runners must register for these races prior to event. Start at 9 a.m.
- 10 km – H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square. The runners must register for these races prior to event. Start at 10 a.m.
- 5 km –H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square. The runners must register for these races prior to event. Start at 1 p.m.
- 3 km –H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square. Start at 1:30 p.m.
- 0.750 km –H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square. Start at 12:30 p.m.
- 0.750 km for school students–H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square. Start at 11:30 a.m.
- 0.400 km – H. Manto str. 1, Atgimimo square. Start at 10:15 a.m.
9.2 PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS:
9.2.1 Participants are allowed to register only under their own name. It is forbidden to pass one’s number to someone else.
9.2.2 Youth aged 16 and under must confirm during the registration that their parents, guardians or trainers gave them permission to enter the race and/or they will be under parental, guardian or trainer’s control during the whole event. Listed persons take full responsibility for the safety and security of youth aged 16 and under.
9.2.3 5 euro distance change fee will be applied, if a registered participant wants to change distance from longer to shorter. If a registered participant wants to change distance from shorter to longer, the fee of the amount of the difference between entrance fees that are valid on the day of change plus 5 euro distance change fee will be applied. The deadline for changing distances is 5 p.m. on the 17th of May 2024.
9.2.4 5 euro participant information change fee will be applied, if a registered participant wants to change participant information on the registry list.
9.2.5 When retrieving the race pack, a participant must show their ID/passport. If one requires retrieving the race pack for someone else, a copy of participant’s ID/passport must be provided.
9.2.5 Participant agrees and upon registration automatically confirms that the organizers are not responsible and will not reimburse the damage done to the participant’s health or life. The total risk and responsibility for the participant’s health problems, injuries and accidents resulting from the participation in the event goes to the participant.
9.2.6 Contribution/registration payment is non refundable.
9.2.7 Every registered participant automatically agrees that the event organizers might use the pictures taken during the event for marketing purposes freely and without individual consent.

9.3.4 In case of participants willing to make a contribution of larger amount of money, they will be able to do so by choosing the amount of their preference.
All of the donations will go directly to support the St. Francis Oncology Center in Klaipeda. The St. Francis Oncology Center in Klaipeda services for oncology patients and their families are free of charge.
We invite you to follow the rule:
Wear a certain color T-shirt based on the distance that you’re running!
- 42.195 km and 21.098 km– White;
- 10 km – Red;
- 5.4 km – Blue;
- 2.9 km and 0.75 km – White.
